What if I don't have a facemask?
I am feeling anxious, what can I do?
I am sick, what should I do?
I am afraid if I go to work I'll get coronavirus.
My client died from Coronavirus, I feel so sad.
How can I keep myself and those I'm caring for safe?
I feel so overwhelmed, can you listen?
Caregiver Coach | MSW | Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Asking for help is courageous, not weak.
My grandfather was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and only given 6 months to live, but he survived 3 more years. As his caregiver, it was hard to watch as the disease progressed. I was not prepared for the stress of being a caregiver. Today, I am a Social Worker supporting care for seniors (and their caregivers) living at home including those with Alzheimer’s. My top tip for caregivers is to remember “you can’t pour from an empty cup.” It can feel vulnerable to say you need help (or just need someone to listen). When you become a caregiver it is so easy to focus on others’ needs that you start to ignore your own.
Caregiver Coach | CNA | Med-Tech
This is a place where you can get relief and exhale with people who can relate.
I’ve been working as a caregiver for 20+ years including working as a CNA in nursing homes, assisted living, home health, hospitals, rehabilitation, Alzheimer's and dementia units, and hospice and supporting people living with MS, Parkinson’s, wound care, trach care, foley care, and feeding tubes. More and more, caregivers are responsible for managing complex care needs. Balancing these added responsibilities with your personal life can be stressful. I’ve learned that to be the best caregiver I can be, I must have empathy and compassion, both for myself and others!
Made by real caregivers and domestic workers who understand how rewarding and tough the job can be.

Sign UpWe are here to support any and all caregivers and domestic workers: CNAs and Home Care Workers, Home Health Aides, nannies, or house cleaners working in someone’s home, or caregivers providing care to loved ones. All are welcome - we don’t ever want a caregiver or domestic worker to feel alone!
The National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA) is the nation’s leading voice for dignity and fairness for the millions of domestic workers - nannies, house cleaners and care workers - in the United States. Founded in 2007, NDWA works for respect, recognition, and inclusion in labor protections for domestic workers, the majority of whom are immigrants and women of color. Domestic workers in all 50 states can join NDWA and gain access to member benefits, connection with other workers, and opportunities to get involved in the domestic worker movement.
Caregivers text us about all kinds of things related to caregiving. Sometimes, it is just they are feeling overwhelmed or stressed and need someone to listen and provide encouragement.
