CareTogether automatically collects non-personally identifiable information about you whenever you visit the Website. Non-personally identifiable information is information that, on its own, cannot be used to identify you. Such information may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address (a number that is automatically assigned by your internet service provider to the computer you used), the type of browser and operating system you used, the date and time you visited the Website, the Internet address of the site from which you linked to the Website, and which pages you viewed on the Website. We use this information for several purposes, such as calculating usage levels, helping diagnose server problems, and administering the Website.
We may also use tracking pixels (also called web beacons), which are tiny electronic tags with a unique identifier that provide usage information, such as impressions and clicks, to measure the success of our marketing campaigns and to compile statistics about use of the Website and response rates
CareTogether uses Google Analytics to gather web analytical data for us. Information about how Google uses information collected from sites that use its services is located at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You may opt out of participating with Google Analytics by downloading the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
The only personally identifiable information -- data that can be used to uniquely identify you -- that CareTogether collects from you when you contact CareTogether is your phone number if you text a trained Caregiver Coach. Any other personally identifiable information that we collect is because you voluntarily provide such information to us. For example, Users may provide personally identifiable information during the course of a communication with a Caregiver Coach. There may also be times when we may ask for your name or state to refer you to local resources, but you are not required to provide such information. We may also ask the current location of you or another person if you or the other person is in danger or in need of emergency assistance. Again, you would not be required to provide such information, but we would strongly encourage you to do so.
To review the personally identifiable information we have about you and to request corrections, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
CareTogether uses Users’ personal information to better understand how Users use the Service so that we can improve the Service. CareTogether also uses Users’ personal information to follow up with Users regarding their experience with the Service. We also use the information, if provided, for the purpose for which the User provided the information, in other words, for example, to refer to local resources or to contact someone regarding emergency assistance.
We provide the Service using a platform provided by Twilio Inc. Twilio retains transcripts of your communications using the Service for a limited period of time, and they are then deleted. See https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy. We may, however, retain some transcripts to evaluate our Caregiver Coaches for quality control, but not for any other purposes.
We prepare summaries of User communications with Caregiver Coaches and use these summaries to analyze the Service. For example, summaries help us understand when most Users communicate with us, how long the communications last, and the general topics discussed. The summaries are not tied to any personally identifiable information and are therefore anonymous.
If you provide CareTogether with your phone number, you consent to receiving phone calls and text messages from CareTogether. If you wish to be removed from CareTogether’s phone list, reply STOP to any text message from CareTogether. We will then send you a message confirming that you have been removed from our text list. Please do not reply to that message, as it may result in your being re-subscribed.
CareTogether adopts appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to help protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, but no data transmission or storage system is guaranteed to be 100% secure.
CareTogether does not disclose your personal information to any third parties, except as provided below.
CareTogether uses third party service providers to help it operate the Service and to administer activities on its behalf, such as Twilio, as discussed above. These third party vendors have access to some User information but they are required to protect the confidentiality of the information and to use it only for the limited purpose for which it was provided.
CareTogether will also share personally identifiable information about Users when required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or to respond to a court order, subpoena, or search warrant. CareTogether will also share personally identifiable information if it believes it is necessary to protect the rights, property, and safety of CareTogether or others.
CareTogether may also share personally identifiable information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of its business to another company. Moreover, CareTogether may share personally identifiable information about a User upon the User’s consent.
CareTogether may share generic aggregated information not linked to any personally identifiable information regarding Users with third parties.
Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that Users can set in certain web browsers. We do not currently respond to DNT signals, as the Internet industry is currently working toward a common approach to responding to DNT.
Protecting the privacy of the young is especially important. For that reason, CareTogether never collects information through the Website from individuals who CareTogether knows are under 13, and no part of the Website is structured to attract anyone under 13. If CareTogether becomes aware of having information about anyone under 13, CareTogether will promptly delete the information.
If you reside in California and have provided your personally identifiable information to CareTogether, you may request information once per calendar year about CareTogether’s disclosures of certain categories of your personally identifiable information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Such requests must be submitted to CareTogether at email@example.com.
